Walk Into Class.
Get Marked Present.

No paper sheets passing around anymore. When you step into the lecture hall, SilentPresence confirms you're in the room and logs your attendance automatically on your phone.

Android Users

Download and install the APK once. The app receives updates on its own in the background, so you never need to reinstall it.

Important Security Rule

One Phone, One Student Account

Read Before You Start

The first time you activate your account, your student profile is permanently paired to that specific phone. You cannot log into your account from a friend’s phone, and nobody can log in on yours. To make sure you don't get locked out, keep these three points in mind:

Android Users

After installing and activating the app, do not uninstall it. If you uninstall and reinstall, your phone's link to your account gets broken and the app will block you from logging back in.

iPhone Users

You must add the app to your Home Screen first and open it from there before activating. Once it is added, never delete that icon, otherwise Safari will wipe your saved login credentials.

Got a New Phone or Lost Yours?

Don't try to log into your new phone right away, it won't let you. Reach out to your Course Rep so they can unbind your old phone from the system first.

Setup Guide

How to Get Started

Setting up takes less than two minutes. Follow the simple steps for your device below.

Step 1 for iPhone

Add the App to Your Home Screen

1

Open the Link in Safari

Tap Open Web App above to load the site in Safari. Look down at the bar at the bottom of your screen.

2

Tap the Share Icon

Tap the Share button (the square icon with an arrow pointing upward) in the bottom toolbar.

3

Choose "Add to Home Screen"

Scroll down the menu a little, tap Add to Home Screen, and hit Add at the top right.

4

Launch From Your Screen

Close Safari! Go to your home screen, tap the new SilentPresence icon, and activate your account from there.

Activating Your Account (For Everyone)

Step 01

Tap "Activate Account"

Open the app, choose Activate New Account, and type in your Index Number.

Step 02

Check Your Email

Enter the 6-digit code sent to your student email, choose a password you can remember, and hit continue.

Step 03

Set Up Biometrics

Turn on Fingerprint or Face ID when prompted. That way, you won't have to keep typing your password every time.

Step 04

Allow Permissions

When you reach the dashboard, allow all permissions (Location and Notification). The app needs these to know when you're in the room.

How It Works In Class

What to Expect During Lectures

Everything happens right from your dashboard—no extra steps needed.

Instant Check-In

When you open your dashboard inside the lecture room, the app checks that you're physically there. Once confirmed, you'll see your status flip to Present and your attendance percentage tick up immediately.

Your Class Timetable

Tap the Calendar icon at the top of your screen to see your weekly timetable, including upcoming lecture times, course titles, and room locations.

Attendance Records

Head over to the Analytics tab whenever you want to check your progress. You can see your attendance breakdown course by course and check every lecture you've attended this semester.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does it say "Unrecognized Hardware" or "Account Bound to Another Device"?

This message shows up if you uninstalled and reinstalled the Android app, deleted the web app shortcut from your iPhone, cleared your browser storage, or tried signing in from another phone. Contact your Course Rep to have your device reset.

How do I know my attendance was recorded?

Just look at your dashboard while in the lecture hall. Once the app verifies you're in the room, your status switches to Present and your attendance percentage updates right away. You can also view the check-in time on your Analytics screen.

What should I do if I forget my password?

If you turned on Fingerprint or Face ID, you can use that to sign right back in. If you still need a password reset, tap "Forgot Password" on your registered phone to receive a 6-digit reset code in your student email.
